Xbox Cloud Gaming Pricing: New Hourly Playtime Packs [Confirmed]

According to verified reports from Kotaku published on October 21, 2026, tech giant Microsoft has officially unveiled brand new hourly cloud gaming pricing plans allowing users to stream game titles without requiring any active monthly Game Pass subscription. The newly introduced playtime packs feature structured pricing options including ten hours for four dollars, twenty-five hours for eight dollars, and fifty hours for twelve dollars. These premium ad-free tiers deliver high-quality streaming performance for casual and competitive players alike across supported mobile, tablet, and PC hardware configurations. Furthermore, Microsoft is rolling out an introductory ad-supported streaming tier specifically targeted at budget-conscious users testing network latency and connection quality before committing funds. This structural pricing shift arrives precisely as Xbox implements strict monthly hour caps for existing Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, raising heated industry debates about overall subscriber value when compared directly against competing platforms like Nvidia GeForce Now, which currently offers significantly higher monthly playtime thresholds for library owners.
