Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios faced intense community backlash on Steam in February 2026 after deploying a controversial anti-cheat patch that disrupted third-party software compatibility, tanking user review scores and sparking immediate player review bombing campaigns across global storefronts. According to verified reports from Game Rant, the sudden deployment of updated anti-cheat protections caused widespread technical hitches, background performance drops, and compatibility barriers for legitimate PC players. Steam metrics recorded thousands of negative feedback entries within forty-eight hours, dragging the cooperative shooter's recent rating into mixed territory. Studio leadership has promised rapid telemetry investigations to address false positives while stabilizing galactic operations across Super Earth frontline sectors.
