Cyberpunk 2077 Movie: Story Details Revealed [Confirmed]

CD Projekt Red and Paramount Pictures have officially confirmed the upcoming live-action Cyberpunk 2077 movie will not follow a 1:1 adaptation of V’s video game storyline, opting instead to deliver an original standalone narrative set inside the lethal dystopian sprawl of Night City. According to verified reporting from Polygon, executive producers are deliberately crafting a brand-new canon tale to protect the RPG's open-ended player choice endings. Following the critical blueprint of Studio Trigger’s smash anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, this cinematic expansion focuses on fresh mercenaries and corporate intrigue rather than recasting V or Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand. Hollywood's modern video game adaptation renaissance has demanded sharper creative discipline, especially as recent industry benchmarks like the [Street Fighter Movie KO'd by Mortal Kombat 2 Reviews [Confirmed]](/news/street-fighter-mortal-kombat-2-reviews) demonstrated the perilous risks of mishandling revered gaming lore.
