ReVamp Playtest Canceled Over AI Cloning Fears [Confirmed]

Developer Digital Sun has officially canceled its wide open public playtest for upcoming Tower Defensevania title ReVamp, restricting testing to an invite-only Discord phase beginning October 29 due to mounting fears of generative AI cloning. According to verified reports from Polygon, the studio behind Moonlighter and The Mageseeker reversed its Triple-i Initiative showcase announcement after analyzing how automated generative tools can rip original mechanics, art assets, and tactical systems from public demo builds within days. By funneling early gameplay sessions into gated, manual verification rounds on Discord, Digital Sun aims to prevent bad actors from deploying AI-assisted asset flips on mobile and storefront platforms ahead of their commercial release. Indie developers face unprecedented operational friction as automated pipeline tools threaten gameplay parity, much like how post-launch ecosystem changes forced studios into aggressive defensive scheduling across platforms, mirroring the tech evolution highlighted in the [Cult of the Lamb Switch 2 Free Upgrade Arrives [Confirmed]](/news/cult-of-the-lamb-switch-2-free-upgrade) launch. Polygon verified that playtesters must now submit explicit verification credentials to test ReVamp's intricate vampire defense hybrid loops.
