PS5 Exploit Patched in Firmware 14.20: Jailbreak Imminent [Update 2026]

According to verified reports from Kotaku, Sony has patched a critical PlayStation 5 system vulnerability in firmware update 14.20, which ironically paves the way for researcher Ark Sama to publicly publish the powerful kernel exploit to the jailbreak homebrew community. The vulnerability, initially disclosed through Sony's official HackerOne bug bounty program, was deemed so severe that the security researcher withheld its technical mechanics until Sony could engineer a definitive patch. Under HackerOne's mutual vulnerability disclosure standards, white-hat security researchers retain legal clearance to release exploitation materials once the vendor patches the security flaw. Industry analysts at Modded Hardware confirmed this exploit completely transforms homebrew execution on older system revisions. Historically, launching unauthorized fake PKG application files required cumbersome system workarounds that caused severe framerate stutters and unstable system memory crashes. With Ark Sama's exploit prepared for release, modified firmware configurations can execute native code at full system bandwidth without severe thermal throttles.
