LoL Worlds 2026: MKOI Stuns BLG in Swiss Stage [Confirmed]

European second seed Movistar KOI pulled off a stunning upset over China's Bilibili Gaming on Day 1 of the League of Legends Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage, securing a crucial opening victory through decisive objective control and disciplined late-game teamfighting. According to verified reports from Insider Gaming, the high-stakes clash between the LEC and LPL second seeds delivered the most electrifying match of the tournament's opening round. Despite entering the showdown as heavy underdogs against the reigning Chinese champions, MKOI neutralized BLG's notorious early-game snowball tactics through exceptional vision denial around the Baron pit and coordinated teleports. Critical teamfights at the third Dragon turned the momentum entirely in Europe's favor, unraveling BLG's front-to-back team composition. This victory shatters initial tournament bracket forecasts, thrusting MKOI into the 1-0 qualification pool while sending BLG into an anxious lower-round contest.
