Keanu Reeves Replaces Alan Ritchson in Netflix Maelstrom [Confirmed]

John Wick franchise star Keanu Reeves is officially stepping in to replace Reacher lead actor Alan Ritchson as the primary protagonist in Netflix’s upcoming high-octane action feature film Maelstrom, according to verified reports released by GamesRadar. The project centers on a dedicated federal marshal tasked with guarding a vulnerable woman seeking witness protection ahead of her upcoming testimony against a dangerous crooked arms dealer. Production details note that the narrative escalates dramatically when a brutal hurricane strikes the region, cutting off all external communication and forcing the characters to endure both punishing natural elements and relentless waves of violent mercenaries. While Alan Ritchson initially secured the starring role earlier this year, his abrupt departure remains unexplained by studio representatives. Reeves brings his legendary stunt choreography expertise and physical screen presence back to the streaming platform, heightening anticipation across global action enthusiasts and gaming communities alike. Industry analysts expect major marketing rollouts as Netflix positions the film as a premier tentpole streaming release for the upcoming slate.
