Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.5 & Edgerunners II [Update 2026]

Cyberpunk 2077 is receiving a surprise patch 2.5 update from developer CD Projekt Red in October 2026, arriving directly alongside the Netflix premiere of the animated sequel Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II to reinvigorate global player engagement. According to verified reports from Kotaku journalist Kenneth Shepard, while the studio's primary workforce is heavily invested in developing The Witcher IV for its anticipated 2028 launch, this ongoing support demonstrates a continued commitment to the dystopian franchise. Alongside the patch, Studio Trigger's anime follow-up brings back familiar faces, including Hideo Kojima's cameo character, despite mixed critical reception regarding its narrative focus. Meanwhile, Hollywood adaptation efforts press forward with a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 movie in development at Paramount, capitalising on recent cinematic successes.
