Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update: Dual Wielding [Confirmed]

According to verified reports from Rock Paper Shotgun, developer CD Projekt Red is launching Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 tomorrow, October 22nd, introducing handgun dual wielding, mantis blade customisation, and official Edgerunners 2 narrative quests directly tied to the anime continuation. Building directly upon the phenomenal cultural momentum of the second anime season that dropped earlier this week, this substantial patch completely redefines player loadouts in Night City. Players can finally combine pistols and revolvers for devastating cross-draw combinations, while aesthetic and functional upgrades for mantis blades allow for unprecedented physical expression in combat. Similar to recent stability measures seen during the [GOG Server Outage: Platform Down After PHP Flaw [Confirmed]](/news/gog-down-php-security-emergency), technical implementation has been rigorously tested across platforms. Fans diving back into the dystopian metropolis will find refreshed gameplay loops, refined NPC behaviors, and deeper systemic integration that cements the title's enduring legacy. As players explore these fresh narrative threads, the community response has triggered massive spikes in player counts and active platform engagement across Steam, GOG, and console ecosystems.
