Valorant VCT Partner Teams 2027-2028: C9 Cut [Confirmed]

According to verified reports from TalkEsport, Riot Games officially finalized the exclusive 32 VCT partner teams for the upcoming 2027-2028 competitive cycle on October 19, 2026, aggressively cutting every international regional league from ten partners down to eight. This sweeping contraction has sent shockwaves through the professional ecosystem, most notably ousting legacy organizations like Cloud9, FURIA, and KIWOOM DRX from the premier tier. While the Chinese roster lineup was self-announced by competing organizations, reports compiled alongside Sheep Esports confirmed that final EMEA and Pacific slots were secured by organizations such as Gentle Mates, Karmine Corp, Gen.G, and GAM Esports after initial weekend slot vacancies. The decision to reduce franchise slots marks a pivotal pivot in Riot's long-term esports strategy, prioritizing hyper-competitive density and financial sustainability over broad expansion. Industry analysts note that affected organizations now face intense restructuring phases, transitioning focus toward Challengers circuits or alternative monetization paths. Meanwhile, fans and players await further official region-by-region breakdowns from Riot Games, as comprehensive club lists continue to emerge primarily through direct organizational announcements rather than centralized publication. This structural overhaul establishes a high-stakes environment for the upcoming VCT calendar, raising competitive pressure across all participating franchises.
