Total War Shogun 2 Complete Edition Pulled Over AI [Confirmed]

Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition was abruptly pulled from digital storefronts across global platforms last week following intense fan backlash regarding generative AI assets, prompting a swift clarification from Creative Assembly leadership. According to verified reports from GamesIndustry.biz, the Total War Vice President stepped forward to confirm that the contentious version was strictly "not a Creative Assembly developed game," distancing the core studio from the third-party mishap. The sudden delisting highlights rising sensitivity within the gaming community toward AI-generated textures, artwork, and code implementations. Fans noticed dubious visual anomalies reminiscent of automated generation, triggering immediate community outcry across forums and social media channels. Creative Assembly’s statement aims to protect their longstanding reputation for historical authenticity and meticulous hand-crafted design, ensuring fans know the main development house maintains strict quality controls against unvetted generative tools. As digital storefronts tighten curation policies, developers and publishers face heightened scrutiny over asset pipelines, licensing agreements, and transparency regarding AI tool integration in classic franchise updates and complete editions.
