Shivam Dube T20I Career Risk: NZ vs IND Roster Lock [Confirmed]

Shivam Dube's international T20 career faces severe jeopardy during the ongoing October 2026 New Zealand tour after team management benched the seasoned 33-year-old all-rounder across all three consecutive matches in Wellington in favor of rising prospects. According to verified reports from Sportskeeda Esports & BGMI, Dube has struggled to reclaim competitive momentum following a quiet home outing against West Indies where he managed just 7 runs and went wicketless in his solitary appearance. With India commanding an unassailable 2-0 series lead heading into the decisive third fixture, national selectors have clearly signaled a transition by heavily backing younger all-round options like Nitish Kumar Reddy and Naman Dhir. This aggressive tactical pivot mirrors recent high-profile squad shuffles across international series, closely matching roster turbulence seen in events like [Ishan Kishan Out: IND vs NZ 3rd T20I Roster Update [Confirmed]](/news/ishan-kishan-ind-vs-nz-t20i-status). Esports and cricket analysts note that continuous benching on overseas tours drastically damages a veteran player's standing in future global tournament projections, placing immense pressure on Dube to immediately reinvent his domestic output before selectors permanently close the door.
