Samsung Game Throttling: KFTC Issues Massive Fine [Confirmed]

Samsung has officially been penalized with a multi-million-dollar regulatory fine by the Korea Fair Trade Commission following formal rulings that the company unlawfully misled mobile gamers by intentionally throttling Galaxy smartphone performance through its proprietary Game Optimizing Service software. According to verified reports from Android Authority, South Korean watchdogs confirmed that Samsung artificially curbed processor and GPU outputs across more than 10,000 gaming applications while simultaneously whitelisting synthetic benchmark tools to inflate advertised processing scores. The long-standing controversy originated during the Galaxy S22 series launch when the company marketed flagship-grade frame rates while covertly capping thermal envelopes to prevent device overheating. Samsung previously issued software updates permitting manual GOS bypass toggles following international consumer class actions, but regulatory bodies concluded that deceptive marketing materially harmed consumers who invested premium capital into promised tier-one mobile performance. The KFTC ruling reinforces strict antitrust boundaries against synthetic benchmark manipulation in commercial hardware.
