PS5 Cheaper Model Officially Launches Pre-Orders [Confirmed]

Sony has officially opened pre-orders for a new cheaper PlayStation 5 model retailing at approximately $350, providing budget-conscious gamers an affordable entry point ahead of major fall releases while standard console prices have surged up to $599 globally. According to verified reports from Polygon, Sony launched this aggressive pricing adjustment across select markets starting in Japan with the Midnight Edition SKU, bucking traditional mid-generation hardware markups driven by component inflation. As hardware costs historically decline over a lifecycle, contemporary supply constraints and enterprise AI hardware speculation previously pushed entry thresholds higher. With massive prospective launches like Grand Theft Auto 6 demanding dedicated console upgrades, this $350 variant slashes financial barriers for competitive aspirants and casual gamers alike.
