Pocket Camp Shutdown: Nintendo Paid Offline App [Confirmed]

According to verified reports from TouchArcade, Nintendo officially announced that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will shut down its free-to-play service on November 28 at 3 PM UTC, replacing the seven-year-old title with a flat-fee premium offline mobile edition that supports full save data transfers. First launched on iOS and Android in late 2017, the live-service simulation sustained millions of active casual gamers across seasonal cycles, fortune cookies, and collaborative garden events. Nintendo confirmed that in-game Leaf Ticket purchases will halt ahead of the sunset, encouraging players to deplete remaining balances before live servers go dark permanently. The replacement application will operate completely offline without subscription models or continuous microtransactions, though it excludes social campsite visits and marketplace trading. This strategic shift mirrors broader ecosystem movements across mobile ecosystems, where premium models provide digital permanence, akin to expansions highlighted in our [Apple Arcade Update: TMNT Splintered Fate [Confirmed]](/news/apple-arcade-update-tmnt-vampire-survivors) report. Nintendo announced that complete pricing tiers, feature lists, and the formal launch date for the offline application will arrive in an official broadcast scheduled for October.
