Obsession director Curry Barker officially confirmed his new psychological horror short film, titled Mama Bear, will release on YouTube on October 29, 2026, delivering an unexpected franchise expansion in partnership with Microsoft Windows ahead of Halloween. According to verified reports from IGN Articles, the acclaimed indie filmmaker announced the surprise production across his social platforms, teasing direct narrative ties to Baron "Bear" Bailey, the tragic protagonist from his breakthrough thriller Obsession. The premiere comes as cross-media cinematic adaptations gain massive traction across digital communities, mirroring community hype seen in the [Elden Ring Movie Runtime Hits 3 Hours in A24 Script [Confirmed]](/news/elden-ring-movie-runtime-alex-garland-a24) production pipeline.
