Loud Eliminates Global Esports VCT Americas Playoffs [2026 Update]

As originally reported by VLR.gg, Brazilian powerhouses LOUD secured a decisive 2-0 victory over Asia-Pacific contender Global Esports, securing their place in the top eight playoff bracket. The sweep unfolded across Split (13-8) and Sunset (13-9), confirming four Americas region squads among the final eight competitors. LOUD surprised analysts by lifting their long-standing Split veto, previously banning the map nine consecutive times in Stage 2, opting instead to ban Ascent.

The strategic tactical shift paid off immediately. LOUD revamped their tactical composition on Split by substituting Astra for Omen while deploying lukxo on Yoru. Although Global Esports initially contested attack rounds behind PatMen, LOUD seized control through an explosive eight-round winning streak to close map one. On Sunset, LOUD maintained momentum with a seven-round opening streak, neutralizing Global Esports' Neon aggressive entry setup. In-game leader Roberto "erde" Lobos led all players with a commanding performance, recording 46 kills and a 1.56 rating. This victory effectively ends Global Esports' tournament run, reminiscent of previous international shifts analyzed in our report on .
