LG UltraGear Evo 52G930B Review: 5K2K Monster [2026]

According to verified reports from PC Gamer, consumer electronics giant LG officially launched the monumental 52-inch UltraGear Evo 52G930B 5K2K gaming monitor in late 2026, retailing for $1,699 as an ultra-wide desktop display built around an old-school VA panel. Despite offering an extraordinarily wide field of view that maximizes visual immersion for racing simulators and open-world RPGs, the hardware compromises heavily on core modern display technologies. PC Gamer's comprehensive evaluation highlights that the massive panel completely lacks true HDR capabilities, local dimming zones, and competitive OLED pixel response times. At a steep price point of $1,699 or £1,499, prospective buyers face stiff competition from modern 65-inch OLED televisions that offer vastly superior infinite contrast ratios and motion clarity. Similar to how creative veterans evaluate industry disruptions like the [Nintendo Legend Shigeru Miyamoto Breaks Silence On AI [Update 2026]](/news/miyamoto-ai-creativity-nintendo-future), hardware enthusiasts must weigh raw immersion against technological obsolescence. Connectivity ports are robust, yet poor pixel response and the absence of mini-LED local dimming leave hardcore gamers questioning its steep market valuation.
