Apple iPhone Duo Repair Costs Hit $1,499 [Confirmed]

Apple's first foldable smartphone, the $1,999 iPhone Duo, will cost consumers up to $1,499 for out-of-warranty hardware fixes following official tiered service price disclosures that were uncovered ahead of the device's official worldwide retail rollout next week. According to verified reports from IGN Articles, early data reveals repair costs starting at $199 for back glass fixes and escalating rapidly to $999 for inner display replacements. If a unit experiences severe structural or combined component failure, Apple classifies the incident as other damage, which incurs a staggering $1,499 service bill without AppleCare+ coverage. While high-tier mobile gamers frequently invest in custom hardware maintenance, such as using the precision tools featured in [PC Modding: Fantik S1 Pro Screwdriver Hits $35 [Tech Deal]](/news/fantik-s1-pro-deal-pc-building-modding), repairing proprietary dual-screen foldable architecture remains strictly locked behind certified service centers. The exorbitant pricing model establishes the iPhone Duo as one of the most perilous investments for portable entertainment and high-stakes competitive mobile titles. Gamers planning to run graphics-intensive scrims on the new foldable must treat protective cases and insurance bundles as mandatory accessories rather than optional luxuries.
