GTA San Andreas Infected State Mod Adds Full Zombie Campaign [Confirmed]

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has officially received a comprehensive zombie apocalypse overhaul called Infected State, bringing entirely new survival mechanics, custom narrative missions, and relentless undead hordes to the iconic 2004 open-world masterpiece. According to verified reports from Game Rant, this ambitious fan-made project transforms the sun-soaked streets of Los Santos into a harrowing wasteland where players must scavenge for scarce ammunition, fortify safehouses, and evade relentless infected AI. Unlike standard skin swaps or minor texture replacers, Infected State introduces dedicated scripting frameworks that alter core gameplay loops, forcing veterans to relearn navigation and combat strategies. The mod has quickly captured community attention across global gaming forums, proving the enduring legacy of Rockstar Games' legendary title over two decades after its initial launch. Analysts note that such high-effort community creations revitalize older software ecosystems, driving renewed interest in retro modding scenes heading into late 2026.
