CS2: FURIA Edge BetBoom to Retain Thunderpick Crown [Confirmed]

Brazilian esports giant FURIA successfully defended their Thunderpick World Championship crown in Attard, Malta, defeating BetBoom Team 3-2 in a grueling best-of-five grand final on Sunday to secure their first premier Counter-Strike 2 trophy of 2026. According to verified reports from Esports.net, the hard-fought championship defense required all five maps after BetBoom pushed the reigning titleholders to the absolute limit. FURIA initiated the series with early momentum by securing Dust2, but BetBoom countered aggressively with commanding tactical adjustments, taking consecutive map victories on Ancient and Nuke to seize a 2-1 series lead. Facing championship point, FURIA demonstrated veteran poise on Mirage, narrowly capturing the fourth map through decisive site retakes and disciplined eco-round conversions. The title was ultimately decided on Cache, where FURIA dismantled BetBoom's defensive structures in late rounds to lock down the trophy.
