Evil Geniuses Ceases Operations: Historic Esports Giant Folds [Confirmed]

Legendary North American esports pioneer Evil Geniuses has officially ceased all competitive and corporate operations, permanently shutting down its storied organization after more than two decades of historic championship dominance across multiple global titles. According to verified reports from Reddit Esports, the definitive collapse follows years of restructuring struggles, leadership controversies, and shrinking sponsorship revenues that ultimately rendered the historic franchise unsustainable. Founded in 1999, EG grew from a modest Counter-Strike clan into a global powerhouse, securing legendary victories at The International 2015 in Dota 2, multiple Championship Series titles in League of Legends, and a historic Valorant Champions trophy in 2023. Despite fielding world-class rosters and pioneering data-driven player wellness programs, financial pressures proved insurmountable. Industry insiders confirmed that all remaining administrative staff have been laid off and active competitive contracts terminated immediately. This seismic closure marks the end of an era for traditional esports organizations struggling to survive in an increasingly volatile macroeconomic climate, reminiscent of historical shocks like the [StarsWar 2006 Permit Crisis Almost Canceled Gala [Confirmed]](/news/starswar-2006-permit-crisis-history).
