Discord Nitro Update 2026: 1GB File Upload Limit [Confirmed]

According to verified reports from TalkEsport, Discord has officially doubled its premium Nitro subscriber file upload limit from a previous 500MB cap all the way up to 1GB as part of a major platform update deployed in October 2026. This substantial increase allows professional gamers, esports competitors, and digital content creators to share uncompressed gameplay highlights, high-definition tournament demos, and massive media bundles directly within community servers without relying on external third-party hosting services. Furthermore, the October 2026 patch introduces a completely rewritten media engine built in Rust for drastically improved media processing speeds, alongside formatted Markdown file previews and an intuitive 'Move To...' channel organization feature. Active subscribers also receive an exclusive 20% discount on YouTube Premium for six months. These robust infrastructural enhancements directly streamline communication workflows for competitive rosters and trading communities across major esports ecosystems.
