What Is RuneScape Reignited?

Reignited is a fresh-start take on RuneScape, which means players begin again from the beginning in a separate world, rather than continuing with the progress they built over years in the main game. The idea sparked backlash from some players, while others welcomed it, and that split is the heart of the debate. A fresh start sounds simple, but in a game where progress, collections, and wealth carry deep personal value, asking everyone to start over touches on what players feel they have earned.

On a fresh-start server, everyone begins with nothing, so early progress feels competitive again and the economy starts from scratch. New players are not dwarfed by veterans with years of wealth, and old players get to relive the early journey with a level playing field. The trade-off is that the new world runs separately from the main game, so items, progress, and achievements in one do not carry into the other. Whether that separation excites you or frustrates you depends on how much you value a clean slate.

Supporters enjoy the excitement of a new economy, the race to be first, and the chance to experience early content again with a busy community around them. Critics worry about splitting the player base, dividing the economy, and devaluing the long-term progress they already made in the main game. Both views are understandable, because they reflect different ways of valuing time in a long-running game. Judge the idea by official announcements and your own priorities, not by the loudest hype posts on either side.
