Is Roblox Banned in UAE?

Roblox is not banned in the UAE. Players in the UAE can download the app, sign in, join games, use the avatar shop, and buy Robux. What is switched off is in-game text and voice chat for UAE accounts, a restriction that has been in place since September 2025 after talks between Roblox and the UAE regulator, the TDRA. Roblox has not given a date for bringing chat back, so any site or seller promising a return date is guessing. The confusion comes from the fact that Roblox was banned in the UAE before, from 2018 to 2021, before access was restored.

The chat restriction came from child-safety concerns, not from a ban on the game itself. Roblox and the TDRA agreed to switch off in-game communication while stronger safety protections were worked on, including better Arabic-language moderation and parental controls. The game itself was never the target, which is why everything except chat kept working. Reports from 2026 describe chat as still off, with no official date for a full return. That is the part of the story that is still unconfirmed: nobody outside Roblox and the regulator knows when chat comes back.

Games, the avatar shop, Robux, and gift cards all still work for UAE accounts. You can play user-created experiences, customise your avatar, and buy Robux through the usual routes. Buying Robux does not unlock chat, and no card, package, or subscription changes the UAE chat setting, so ignore any seller who claims otherwise. If a seller offers a paid fix for chat, that is a scam, because there is no paid route to a setting that Roblox itself controls.

The reliable way to check is Roblox's own support pages and official announcements, plus news from the TDRA, rather than a random video or a chat group claim. If chat suddenly works again, it will be announced through those channels first. Do not use a VPN to get around the chat restriction, because that breaks Roblox's rules and puts the account at risk, including any Robux on it.
