Enshrouded Gems Guide

Gems in Enshrouded are crafting materials used for gear, upgrades and base building, and some of the stronger recipes need them. Because gems feed into progression rather than sitting in your inventory as decoration, it pays to collect them whenever you find them instead of leaving them behind. Check the crafting recipes at your survivors and workstations to see which gems your next upgrade actually needs before you go hunting.

Gems come from a few steady sources across Embervale. Gem veins in rock faces and caves can be mined with a pickaxe, and loot chests in ruins and dungeons often hold them. Enemies and containers in Shrouded areas can also drop them, so a careful clear of a Shroud pocket usually turns up something. If a run comes up empty, you probably searched the wrong kind of ground, not the wrong region.

Start by checking your recipes so you know which gem you actually need, then pick a search area that matches it. Prepare for the Shroud before you enter: watch your Shroud timer, bring food and healing, and plan an exit route. Mine every gem vein you pass, open every chest in the ruins, and clear the enemies guarding the good loot. Mark veins and rich spots on your map as you find them so later trips go straight to the source.

Do not spend rare gems on the first recipe that accepts them. Compare what each recipe gives you and save the hard-to-find gems for the upgrades that matter most to your build. Keep a small stockpile at your base so a crafting session is never blocked by one missing gem. And if a gem type keeps eluding you, try a different region or a deeper Shroud pocket, since gem types vary by area. For more gaming guides, browse the store.
