Assassin's Creed Hexe Petra Explained

Assassin's Creed Hexe is the codename for Ubisoft's next mainline Assassin's Creed game, described by Ubisoft as a darker, narrative-driven experience set during a pivotal moment in history. Reports say it moves away from the large open-world RPG style of recent entries toward a more linear story. Ubisoft has confirmed the project exists, but it has not announced a release window, platform list or story details.

Leaked casting documents describe the lead as Petra, a strong-willed young woman in her mid-twenties who refuses to follow the social rules of her time. She is described as both a dutiful daughter and a radical thinker who cannot accept the narrow role her society expects her to play. Earlier leaks used the name Anika Adler for the same role, and both names may be placeholders that change before launch, so treat Petra as a reported name, not a confirmed one.

The casting material reportedly gives Petra a mother named Brigitte, a compassionate midwife trained in herbalism, and a father named Konrad, the executioner of a town called Neustadt. An older character, Mother Gertrud, is described as a former village healer who offers Petra refuge as she flees a hostile group called the Order of the Lamb, which reports suggest could be a front for the Templars. The city of Augsburg is described as a dangerous stop on Petra's journey.

Ubisoft has confirmed none of these character or story details, and insiders disagree on timing, with some pointing to a later window than others. The names, the family details and the Order of the Lamb could all change or vanish before launch. Treat every Hexe leak as rumour until Ubisoft shows the game itself, and check the store for more gaming guides while you wait.
