Wardogs Season 2 XP & Cash Bonus Cancelled [Confirmed]

According to verified reports from Rock Paper Shotgun published in early 2026, Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer announced the immediate cancellation of the Wardogs Season 2 team-specific cash and XP bonus experiment after a single tumultuous day. The multiplayer sandbox FPS introduced the unprecedented social experiment during its latest update to rehabilitate the reputation of the infamous Lonestar faction, also known as the Blue Team. Developers attempted to grant exclusive bonus currency and upgrade cash solely to Blue players to attract skilled competitors and counteract dismal winrates. However, the maneuver instantly provoked fierce community backlash, destabilized fair matchmaking integrity, and distorted the in-game economy. Brammer confessed the mistake candidly in a developer video, stating bluntly that the team was wrong and messed up the balance entirely. Industry analysts noted parallels to other high-stakes updates, such as hardware adjustments seen in the [Asus RTX 5080 White RMA Swap: Reddit Success Story [Confirmed]](/news/asus-white-rtx-5080-rma-swap), where rapid developer responsiveness proved critical in managing community outrage. Bulkhead has now pivoted back to standard progression metrics, reassuring players that future tweaks will prioritize competitive fairness rather than artificial faction balancing.
