Ubisoft Layoffs 2026: Redlynx Closed & Singapore Cut [Confirmed]

Ubisoft officially confirmed significant structural downsizing across two major international development studios, proposing the total closure of Helsinki-based Trials creator Redlynx alongside cutting 70 production roles at Ubisoft Singapore to reduce overhead costs. According to verified reports from Rock Paper Shotgun, the French publisher is shuttering Redlynx under local Finnish labor consultation laws, impacting up to 52 positions, while simultaneously trimming Singapore's headcount to align production needs. Ubisoft Singapore, previously responsible for shipping Skull and Bones and heavily reported to lead development on the unannounced Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced remake, remains active within Ubisoft's global production grid despite losing tenured technical staff. The strategic contraction reflects ongoing industry-wide budget realignments, echoing corporate cost corrections seen in our report on the [S&Box Disaster: Garry Newman Admits Project Failure [Confirmed]](/news/garrys-mod-creator-sbox-flop) as publishers ditch experimental live-service overheads. Studio representatives maintain that Singapore continues to anchor key co-development operations, though Redlynx's closure effectively retires one of Europe's most celebrated physics-based platforming development teams after twenty-six years of continuous studio history.
