Total War Shogun 2 Remaster Fail: Studio Response [Confirmed]

According to verified investigative reports published by Kotaku, Creative Assembly Vice President Roger Collum has officially addressed the disastrous launch of the Total War Shogun 2 Complete Edition remaster by shifting accountability onto external developer Mataboo. During a public statement released on October 23, 2026, Collum noted that the project was not developed internally and admitted that Creative Assembly took their eyes off external development while internal teams focused on upcoming major projects. Although Collum accepted ultimate franchise responsibility, stating that the studio's name is on the product and they care deeply about player experiences, he revealed a critical failure in QA pipelines. Because the title was outsourced to Polish developer Mataboo, it bypassed the rigorous internal reviews and quality assurance protocols standard at Sega and Creative Assembly. In response to the community uproar, management has assembled a small strike team of senior developers to work alongside Sega and the external studio on immediate patch remedies. Meanwhile, industry analysts and long-time fans have expressed deep concern over corporate oversight standards and the growing trend of outsourcing classic game remasters without adequate supervision.
