T1 Eliminates JD Gaming to Wipe Out Chinese Teams in Shanghai [2026 Update]

As originally reported by VLR.gg, Korean powerhouse T1 decisively extinguished the hometown crowd's hopes in Shanghai with a 2-1 victory over JD Gaming in the Group A elimination match. The high-tension decider marked a historic low for the host region, confirming that zero VCT China representatives will advance to the playoff bracket on home soil.

JD Gaming mounted fierce resistance on their map pick, pushing the series to a decisive third map. However, T1 demonstrated exceptional composure under stage pressure, neutralizing JDG's star duelists with methodical site retakes and superior secondary initiator usage. The elimination concludes a devastating campaign for the Chinese contingent, who failed to secure a single series victory on the live Shanghai stage.

T1's clutch victory not only keeps their international campaign alive but also highlights the widening tactical gap between established Pacific circuit veterans and developing Chinese franchise structures on the international stage.
