Supergirl DCU: James Gunn Debunks Milly Alcock Recast [Confirmed]

DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has officially shut down widespread viral rumors alleging that Milly Alcock would be recast as Supergirl, confirming the Australian actress remains firmly attached to headline Woman of Tomorrow despite summer box office turbulence. According to verified reports from Polygon, speculative churn escalated after vocal online fandoms questioned DC Studios' future creative pipeline under Warner Bros. Discovery ownership. Gunn took to social platforms to deliver a blunt denial, reaffirming complete studio alignment behind Alcock alongside co-chair Peter Safran. While Superman and Lanterns secured immediate production milestones, Supergirl endured relentless discourse from critics eager to spot cracks in Gunn's unified universe strategy. This executive reaffirmation preserves vital continuity across film, television, and associated gaming adaptations, preventing secondary rewrites or developmental pauses. The stabilization arrives amid broader entertainment synergy updates, echoing creative momentum seen in projects like the [Dark Tower TV Series by Mike Flanagan Confirmed [Confirmed]](/news/mike-flanagan-dark-tower-series-confirmed) and transmedia gaming initiatives.
