Street Fighter Movie Review: [Confirmed] 45% Rotten Tomatoes

According to verified reports from Polygon published this week, the newly released live-action Street Fighter movie has launched to a dismal critical reception, currently sitting at 45 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and 44 on Metacritic. Polygon described the project as an incoherent and irredeemable mess that painfully flounders through an overlong two-hour runtime before concluding in a thoroughly unsatisfying anticlimax. Despite competent physical choreography, the fight sequences ultimately fall flat by failing to properly leverage the iconic fighters' exaggerated superhuman abilities and signature moveset dynamics. The singular shining beacon across the entire production is actor David Dastmalchian, whose wildly enthusiastic, deliciously campy performance as the iconic antagonist M. Bison injects much-needed energy into an otherwise sluggish script. While audiences look forward to gaming crossovers and multimedia extensions, poor writing and misguided pacing routinely sabotage beloved franchises. Similar to historical missteps and controversies such as the [Shrek 2 Remaster Leak: 4K Co-Op Gameplay Revealed [Leak]](/news/shrek-2-remaster-xbox-leak), fans expect absolute fidelity to source material, making these critical failures particularly stinging for longtime fighting game enthusiasts worldwide who demand faithful adaptations of their favorite arcade legends.
