Manchester United Crisis: Steven Gerrard Slams Lisandro Martinez [Analysis]

According to verified reports from Sportskeeda Esports & BGMI, Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard fiercely criticized Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez on October 15, 2026, telling the Argentine center-back to shut his mouth and prioritize defensive duties over board criticism. Speaking on a high-profile episode of The Overlap, Gerrard dissected Martinez's post-match remarks following a bruising loss to Atletico Madrid. The former England captain argued that public commentary directed at club leadership undermines squad unity and distracts from on-field execution. Rather than engaging in administrative politics, Gerrard emphasized that elite professionals must channel their energy into defensive solidity, clean sheets, and rectifying structural errors. This explosive clash underscores mounting pressure inside Old Trafford as managerial tactics and player accountability come under intense scrutiny.
