Tennis GOAT Debate: Fans Slam Mouratoglou Over Graf [Confirmed]

Patrick Mouratoglou ignited fierce global debate on October 20, 2026, after officially naming Serena Williams the ultimate women's tennis GOAT over Martina Navratilova, drawing massive fan backlash for completely erasing 22-time Grand Slam champion Steffi Graf from the historic conversation. According to verified reports from Sportskeeda Esports & BGMI, the renowned French coach argued that modern era depth and athletic parity elevate Williams above Navratilova's historic 18 major titles and 167 WTA singles crowns. However, tennis enthusiasts swiftly rejected Mouratoglou's framing, flooding social channels with Graf's peerless credentials, including her 1988 Calendar Golden Slam—a feat neither Serena nor Martina ever attained. Statistical historians noted Graf holds the record for 377 total weeks ranked World No. 1 and boasts a superior win percentage in major finals compared to modern contemporaries. The clash highlights a deep philosophical schism between raw tournament totals from the 1980s and modern Open Era dominance, similar to debates seen in our analysis of [Musetti vs Kouame Lyon Open 2026: Preview & Betting Odds [Confirmed]](/news/musetti-vs-kouame-lyon-open-2026).
