Star Wars Starfighter: Record $226M Budget Revealed [Confirmed]

Disney and Lucasfilm's upcoming sci-fi blockbuster Star Wars: Starfighter has officially set a franchise spending milestone after incurring an unprecedented $226.5 million production budget prior to wrapping principal photography ahead of its global theatrical debut scheduled for May 27, 2026. According to verified reports from Polygon, financial filings disclosed by Forbes illustrate that the high-stakes production reached this staggering sum well before entering post-production visual effects. The studio invested aggressively into bespoke cockpit practical rigs, cutting-edge LED soundstages, and high-fidelity aerial simulation choreography starring Ryan Gosling. This monumental outlay surpasses prior franchise standouts, placing severe box-office delivery expectations squarely on director Shawn Levy and the broader Lucasfilm executive suite. The studio's colossal capital deployment signals broader corporate confidence in flagship space-combat entertainment, coinciding with enterprise-wide tech investments across allied gaming divisions.
