Star Wars Battlefront 3: DICE & Respawn Team Up [Update 2026]

Star Wars Battlefront 3 is reportedly in active development under Electronic Arts, pairing Battlefield creator DICE with Apex Legends studio Respawn Entertainment to engineer a premier sci-fi shooter experience across next-generation platforms following major organizational changes. According to verified reports from GameSpot News and initial reporting by Variety, the blockbuster collaboration emerged directly from internal executive memos detailing EA's overarching shooter portfolio realignment. While corporate restructuring previously triggered industry shockwaves—reminiscent of past milestones outlined in [EA Studio Closures History: BioWare & Maxis [Confirmed 2026]](/news/ea-studio-closures-history)—EA leadership confirmed that DICE and Respawn are uniting technical resources to unlock scalable live-service revenue. EA stated that critical operational learnings from Battlefield 6's deployment and Apex Legends' continuous mode expansions will directly inform their collaborative pipeline. Lucasfilm Games had recently solicited bids for an expansive franchise shooter, making this collaborative dual-studio effort the natural successor to 2017's Battlefront II. Although EA has not officially published gameplay trailers or launch dates, production sources indicate early build architecture is already underway across both Swedish and North American development hubs.
