Star Wars Battlefront 3: Bungie Dev Rumor Surfaces [Leak]

Lucasfilm is actively seeking a development partner to produce Star Wars Battlefront 3, with industry insiders naming Destiny creator Bungie and original franchise developer EA DICE as leading studio candidates for the coveted sci-fi project. According to verified reports from Kotaku citing veteran insider Jeff Grubb on his Game Mess Morning podcast, Lucasfilm leadership has deployed inquiries across tier-one triple-A studios to revive the multiplayer franchise. While EA DICE previously helmed both modern installments, Bungie has emerged as an intriguing possibility given Sony's willingness to publish multiplatform Disney adaptations alongside projects like Insomniac's Marvel lineup. Sony previously licensed massive intellectual properties, creating speculation that Bungie could pivot resources away from shifting live-service pipelines like Marathon toward a proven cinematic universe. The prospect highlights how major publishers are scrambling for prestige multiplayer licenses, mirroring industry shifts seen when fans clamored for retro revivals like the [Resident Evil Zach Cregger Movie Gets PS1 Retro Game [Leak]](/news/zach-creggers-resident-evil-ps1-game).
