Resident Evil Film Tops Zach Cregger’s Box Office, Beats Weapons [2026 Update]

As originally reported by IGN Articles, the live‑action Resident Evil adaptation earned an estimated $320.2 million worldwide, surpassing Zach Cregger’s earlier blockbuster Weapons. The film’s domestic haul reached $138.5 million, while international markets contributed $181.7 million, with China alone delivering $40.6 million in its fourth weekend. This performance not only crowns Resident Evil as Cregger’s highest‑grossing title but also revitalises interest in Capcom’s broader IP portfolio, echoing the ripple effects seen after the Spielberg fantasy re‑release that boosted gaming market activity . The surge is expected to translate into heightened brand exposure for upcoming Capcom esports ventures and increased demand for related digital collectibles.
