Reforj PC Release Date: 4J Studios Sets Q1 2027 Playtest [Confirmed]

According to verified reports from GamesIndustry.biz, 4J Studios announced during the Game Republic New Horizons conference that their upcoming open-world survival sandbox Reforj will launch a closed PC playtest in Q1 2027. Revealed by industry veterans Chris van der Kuyl and Joseph "Stampy" Garrett at the VIP reception, the initial playtest will be strictly invite-only to ensure optimized server performance and player experience. Garrett emphasised that 4J Studios is taking an unconventional early access approach, putting prototype builds into players' hands just nine months after development began to gather vital feedback on procedural world generation and creative sandbox elements. While the exact storefront platform hosting the closed playtest remains unconfirmed, developers promised a comprehensive announcement later this year. This milestone follows broader regional ecosystem growth, building on momentum seen across industry events like the [Game Republic 2026: Attendance Surges 78% [Confirmed]](/news/game-republic-2026-attendance-growth-confirmed).
