The Story
As originally reported by VLR.gg, Brazilian star Gabriel 'qck' Lima has officially ended his one-year tenure with 2Game Esports. The veteran duelist and flex player joined 2Game at the start of the competitive season, quickly establishing himself as the primary offensive anchor for the organization. Throughout his campaign, qck guided 2Game to consecutive runner-up finishes across the Brazilian Challengers circuit, collecting sufficient circuit points to secure qualification for the Americas Last Chance Qualifier. During the LCQ Grand Final clash against Shopify Rebellion Black, qck delivered an astounding 97-kill masterclass across an intense two-day series disrupted by technical delays. That decisive triumph propelled 2Game into the prestigious Americas Stage 2 Play-Ins, where the roster ultimately concluded their underdog run with an 0-2 record. In his farewell statement, qck expressed deep gratitude toward his teammates for overcoming adversity together during their grueling campaign, leaving 2Game to explore high-tier competitive options.
Strategic & Competitive Analysis
How this development impacts competitive gameplay, professional metas, and community markets.
qck's departure forces 2Game Esports into an urgent tactical restructuring ahead of the next competitive cycle. Operating as the primary entry duelist and adaptable secondary flex on maps like Ascent and Haven, qck consistently generated opening duel advantages that compensated for macro coordination gaps against international opposition. Without his individual site-anchor prowess and high-impact clutch capability, 2Game must either transition into a heavy utility-driven execute style or recruit an explosive tier-one caliber duelist. His availability creates an immediate bidding target for VCT Americas and top-tier Challengers franchises seeking proven international LAN experience. Furthermore, 2Game’s upcoming qualification odds for Challengers Stage 1 diminish significantly unless they secure a mechanically dominant substitute capable of mirroring qck’s aggressive space-taking tempo.
