India Playing XI NZ 2026: Pujara Drops 2 Stars [Confirmed]

Former Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara has named his India playing XI for the upcoming 2026 Test series against New Zealand, introducing two decisive tactical roster changes to combat testing overseas swinging conditions ahead of the two-match red-ball series in early 2026. According to verified reports from Sportskeeda Esports & BGMI, India is preparing for a full multi-format tour of New Zealand featuring five T20Is, five ODIs, and two critical Test matches. Pujara, renowned for his defensive discipline at number three, evaluated recent red-ball form across the domestic circuit—recalling moments like when [Ajay Mandal Dismisses Shubman Gill in Ranji Trophy [Confirmed]](/news/ajay-mandal-shubman-gill-ranji-trophy)—to structure a balanced lineup capable of withstanding early swing. The veteran's selection philosophy sidelines two regular starters to reinforce seam depth and batting fortitude against the hosts' lethal pace battery on lush green surfaces. Pujara emphasized that touring New Zealand demands patient crease occupation and relentless seam pressure over aggressive power-hitting. His projected lineup injects proven red-ball technicians into the top order while bolstering the lower-middle order with reliable all-round utility, sparking widespread debate across analysts and esports fantasy communities anticipating India's overseas winter campaign.
