PUBG Mobile Account Phishing Scam Exposes Recovery Flaws [Alert]

A PUBG Mobile player lost an elite Collection Level 81 account valued at over $5,000 after falling victim to a sophisticated esports tournament phishing scam that bypassed automated account recovery protocols, according to verified reports published on Reddit PUBGMobile this February 2026. The incident escalated when the attacker systematically stripped the owner's linked email and mobile verification protocols while exploiting the credentials to compete in regional lobbies. Despite the original owner submitting two-tier UC purchase receipts and registered device hardware logs to customer support, automated review tickets repeatedly cycled between initial approval and subsequent denial, leaving the compromised profile active under unauthorized control. Threat actors frequently exploit the competitive aspirations of rising players by creating spoofed landing pages disguised as official registrations for elite leagues where dominant organizations like REJECT operate. Much like competitive roster shakeups seen when [Valorant VCT 2027: Cloud9 Cut From Partnership [Confirmed]](/news/valorant-vct-cloud9-partnership-omission) sent shockwaves through pro circuits, account vulnerability breaches destabilize grassroots competitive teams who depend on established scrim identities. Community investigators warn that credential harvesting operations are targeting competitive hopefuls attempting to qualify for open-bracket regional championships.
