PUBG Erangel Classic Map Returns: OG Loot & Dates [Confirmed]

Krafton is officially bringing back the original 2017 Erangel map through a limited-time Erangel Classic event running from May 14 to May 28 on PC and May 23 to June 6 on consoles, temporarily replacing standard Erangel in normal match playlists. According to verified reports from Dexerto PUBG, the retro mode reinstates the beloved vintage atmosphere, complete with gloomy early-era lighting, muted UI elements, and original weapon balance tunings. Players dropping into Military Base, Pochinki, or Georgopol will immediately notice the return of world-spawn Level 3 helmets, reduced overall weapon recoil, and retro time-to-kill dynamics. The initiative mirrors ongoing community engagement moves by publisher Krafton, which recently committed major capital toward ecosystem growth, including initiatives detailed in the [PUBG Modding Contest 2026: Krafton Offers $95K [Confirmed]](/news/pubg-modding-contest-95000-payout) showcase. By reviving legacy map geometry alongside the retro M416 and Kar98k ballistics, Erangel Classic gives veteran survivors and newer competitors alike an authentic recreation of battle royale history before standard competitive rotations resume.
