PUBG Black Budget Spinoff Cancelled [PUBG Mobile]

As originally reported by Shacknews, the developers behind Black Budget announced the extraction‑shooter spinoff will not move forward, stating the project’s current direction would not allow a sustainable, enjoyable experience for players over the long term. The cancellation halts what many expected to become a fresh competitive arena complementing PUBG Mobile’s battle‑royale core. Industry insiders had speculated the title would introduce new map layouts and loot mechanics, potentially reshaping team strategies and sponsor activations. With the spinoff shelved, PUBG Mobile’s existing ecosystem remains the primary focus for both casual and pro players. The decision also aligns with broader trends where studios prioritize proven revenue streams over experimental launches. Community forums reacted with mixed feelings, with some players expressing disappointment while others welcomed the chance for the studio to concentrate on upcoming PUBG Mobile updates, including the anticipated Season 20 battle pass. Analysts predict the development team will redirect talent toward enhancing existing game modes, which could improve match stability and introduce refined weapon balancing, further influencing the competitive meta.
