Poison Ivy HBO Series: The Penguin Producer Attached [Report]

HBO is actively developing a standalone Poison Ivy live-action television series with The Penguin showrunner Lauren LeFranc currently in official talks to lead the production, expanding Warner Bros. Discovery’s acclaimed Gotham City villain cinematic universe for global audiences. According to verified reports from Polygon, LeFranc—who received widespread critical acclaim as creator, showrunner, and executive producer of Colin Farrell’s *The Penguin*—is negotiating terms to develop the legendary eco-terrorist antihero. While plot specifics remain under wraps, the narrative is anticipated to bridge the gritty crime-drama realism established by director Matt Reeves' *The Batman* universe and James Gunn’s evolving DC Studios slate. Pamela Isley, introduced in 1966's *Batman #181*, has long stood as one of DC’s most complex figures, blending environmental militancy with biochemical genius. This milestone report highlights Hollywood's accelerating appetite for dark, character-driven comic adaptations following the massive Emmy buzz and ratings records posted by HBO’s recent villain ventures.
