Over the Hill: How to Unlock Inventory Slots [Full Guide]

To unlock more inventory slots in Over the Hill, players must locate the mechanic workshop hub and spend scavenged upgrade materials to expand their backpack capacity, permanently enabling survivors to carry vital expedition tools beyond the restrictive single starting slot. According to verified reports from Game Rant, beginner drivers are severely hampered by the default loadout, which permits holding only one essential piece of gear at a time. Early off-road navigation heavily relies on recovery items such as wooden planks to bridge muddy chasms and the mechanical winch to pull stalled rigs up sheer incline slopes. Without additional pockets, adventurers must make grueling, repetitive journeys between supply depots and stuck vehicles. Upgrading your storage involves gathering structural scrap metal and currency tokens across initial backcountry zones before visiting garage stations. Integrating these inventory expansions alongside [Over the Hill: How to Upgrade Vehicles [Full Guide]](/news/over-the-hill-upgrade-vehicle-guide) creates an optimal progression loop, turning brutal survival hauls into highly efficient expeditions.
