MW4 Campaign: Cold Open Mission Walkthrough [Full Guide]

The Modern Warfare 4 campaign officially kicks off with Cold Open, an atmospheric covert infiltration mission where players navigate deceptive civilian environments, identify undercover hostile targets, and execute silent takedowns across a hostile border outpost during winter 2026. According to verified reports from Sportskeeda Esports & BGMI, the prologue begins in deliberate tranquility before erupting into high-stakes tactical chaos. Players assume control of an undercover reconnaissance specialist embedded in an unassuming transit station. As hostile combatants trigger an ambush, operatives must secure critical intelligence dossiers, navigate tight corridors, and rendezvous with Captain Price's extraction chopper under heavy mortar fire. This cinematic structure echoes past franchise highlights, building directly upon narrative threads explored in our earlier coverage of [Call of Duty MW4: Activision Snubs Zelda for GTA 6 [2026]](/news/activision-mw4-gta6-zelda-snub-2026). Walkthrough data highlights multiple approach vectors: players can bypass secondary sentry squads using silenced sidearms and thermal optics or initiate aggressive breaches using flashbangs and breach charges. Successfully finishing Cold Open unlocks the veteran-tier 'Shadow Protocol' assault rifle blueprint and grants immediate progress toward the game's completionist mastery camouflage track.
