Middle‑Earth Box Set Hits $86 During Big Deal Days Sale [2026 Update]

As originally reported by IGN Articles, Amazon’s Big Deal Days promotion has slashed the price of The Complete History of Middle‑Earth three‑volume box set to $86.07, a steep drop from its $250 list price and the lowest point seen this year. Compiled by Christopher Tolkien, the set aggregates over 5,000 pages of Tolkien’s unpublished drafts and notes, making it a coveted item for LotR enthusiasts. The Lightning Deal is limited‑time and quantity‑capped; once fully claimed, the price will revert. This discount mirrors recent Amazon‑driven price shocks in the tabletop sector, as detailed in our earlier coverage of Magic: The Gathering deals. Collectors are rushing to secure the set before inventory depletes, driving a noticeable uptick in activity on 217G.
