Liquid Swords Files Bankruptcy: Samson Studio Shuts [Confirmed]

Swedish game development studio Liquid Swords has officially filed for bankruptcy following an October 12 court order in Stockholm after thirty staff members went unpaid for over two months, effectively halting ongoing post-launch support for open-city crime simulator Samson. According to verified reports from PC Gamer via Swedish business outlet Breakit, the insolvency petition was initiated directly by the studio's approximately thirty employees rather than corporate leadership. Founded in 2020 by former Avalanche Studios co-founder and Just Cause creator Christofer Sundberg, Liquid Swords originally pitched Samson as an expansive triple-A action title before scoping down to a run-based getaway driver simulator. The game launched six months ago to modest reception, leaving the independent developer financially overextended amid broader tech contraction. A court-appointed administrator is currently seeking potential acquisition buyers for the company's remaining assets, proprietary codebase, and intellectual properties.
